My books give children an opportunity to value others. My goal in writing is to help children realize that their existence plays an important role in our world. I wish for them to trust their thoughts and feelings. This will help them to feel connected to their emotions and understand that they are connected to everyone and everything.

It all started in 2008 on a cold winter day. My son Gabriel drew a picture of a whale and asked me if it reminded me of love. He made the tail into a heart and I made up a sentence to go along with the illustration expressing to him how his picture reminded me of love. He was very pleased and decided that it would be a good idea to hide some hidden hearts for me to find. It became a game. He asked me to come up with other sentences so that he could draw more illustrations and hide the hearts. Something came over me at that moment. Everything happened so fast. We effortlessly and unintentionally created an entire book in one afternoon. There were so many adorable illustrations that I needed to split the book into two volumes. It was at that moment that I felt a rush of adrenaline. I told Gabriel about my promise. I then intuitively knew the time had come for me to use this book to fulfill my promise.
We did not have a cover! A week later I sat down at my kitchen table to look at the beautiful freshly fallen snow when I saw a painting that Gabriel had made out of dot markers. It was a beautiful rainbow that I kept on our sliding door. He made it one day when I was calling everyone for dinner. I remember he was late coming to the table because he insisted on finishing a project, but when he came running into the kitchen with the beautiful finished rainbow my heart melted and I immediately hung it. I knew it would make the perfect cover because rainbows are a symbol of hope. After a storm there is a rainbow. After tragedy there is hope. It was symbolic for my life as well as for others I wish to help.
My parents for teaching me that anything is possible through love.
My in-laws for helping out in so many ways.
My siblings for staying so strongly connected.
My husband for accepting me for all that I am.
My children for teaching me what life is really about.
My son Dominic, who has passed, for helping me understand how love can transcend.
My best friend “Mickey” Michelle who I have known since kindergarten and gives me constant and unlimited support.
"Where Is Love?"
is more than a book. It represents a seed that I planted long ago. It represents a garden that I wish to grow which will fulfill my promise. It represents hope.
Books in progress include the topics following your heart, how big love is, self image, when someone we love passes away, mother and child connection, bedtime, and more.
