Matthew had his yearly check-up and MRI of his tumor. The tumor is growing and it has been determined that he will need a second surgery to attempt to remove it. His surgery is scheduled for mid July and we hope that Dr. Dormans can remove all of it this time. I donated 100 books to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in Matthew's honor.

An Extraordinary Person!

Today I made a suprise appearance at Risoldi's. I did a meet and greet, but most people were too busy to stop. Chris is a special needs employee who bags and gathers grocery carts. He saw many shoppers passing by trying to avoid me because they figured I wanted a donation of some kind. Most shoppers totally ignored me as they walked by as quickly as possible. Chris came up to me and told me if he had money he would buy my books to make me feel better because that is what love is all about! This made my day!

I met so many wonderful and supportive people today. It was great networking and I had a blast entertaining the kids as well as the adults.

Gabriel Reads to His Class!

I visited Gabriel's second grade class today. I used "Where Is Love?" to teach a lesson about how I use introspection while writing. I explained that everyone defines the world from a different perspective and introspection requires one to go within to describe feelings. We used introspection to discover how the characters in my books may have felt. The class really enjoyed the lesson and Gabriel loved reading our book to his friends. I received some very beautiful thank you notes from the children and I will keep them forever!
